Destination Markham Corporation (DMC) is a newly incorporated entity with the purpose to promote Markham as a remarkable destination for visitors, including tourists, sport and festival attendees, meeting and conference delegates, and business travellers. DMC’s key tourism objectives are to research, develop, market and grow Markham’s tourism economy.
In August of 2020, Interkom was hired by the Destination Markham Corporation (DMC) to assist with the launch of the new DMO, the development of an integrated marketing strategy and media plan and the development of a new website for DMC.
Interkom developed a logo for Destination Markham and the Visit Markham Safely Campaign, which included branded wears, marketing collateral and graphics.
Interkom successfully planned and bought media for the remainder of 2020 and early 2021 in Ontario for Destination Markham to encourage hyper-local tourism, supporting small businesses and being a tourist in your own backyard.
A B2B campaign was launched, and almost 2,000 business owners have been personally reached to highlight granting and marketing programs businesses that can take advantage of during this pandemic.
The Interkom team currently manages all aspect of the marketing program, including the successful launch of DMC’s Social Media Channels (TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube & LinkedIn.)
