Leading Regional Efforts in Cancer Prevention and Care

Part of Ontario Health (Cancer Care Ontario), the Hamilton Niagara Haldimand Brant (HNHB) Regional Cancer Program delivers coordinated cancer prevention, screening, and care across the region. Through programs such as the Ontario Breast Screening Program, Ontario Cervical Screening Program, ColonCancerCheck, and the Ontario Lung Screening Program, HNHB promotes early detection and prevention—helping thousands of Ontarians stay healthy and identify cancer at its earliest, most treatable stages.

Web Design & Development

Interkom reimagined the HNHB Regional Cancer Program website with a modern design, clear information architecture, and an updated navigation system that mirrors Ontario Health’s structure. The refreshed layout and branding bring the site in line with Cancer Care Ontario’s visual identity while making cancer screening resources easier to access for residents and healthcare providers alike.

Search Visibility & Optimization

When Interkom began the project, the HNHB Regional Cancer Program website was nearly invisible in search results — even for direct, local queries like “HNHB cancer screening.”

After restructuring the site’s content and hierarchy, consolidating pages, and improving technical performance, the new website now ranks prominently for targeted regional and program-specific terms. The site is also recognized by Google’s AI Overview, highlighting its relevance and authority in cancer screening information across Hamilton, Niagara, Haldimand, and Brant.

This visibility continues to grow month over month, as shown by rising click and impression trends in Google Search Console. The steady increase in search performance reflects stronger SEO foundations and improved placement in regional SERPs, ensuring that residents can easily find accurate, trusted cancer screening information when they need it most.
